The DH Ensemble
Erin is proud to be one of four lead artists in The DH Ensemble (also known as The Deaf & Hearing Ensemble). She writes and devises as well as performing in the company's theatrical productions. Erin is also one of two main producers for the company's work.
The DH Ensemble is a group of D/deaf and hearing actors, directors, theatre makers, writers, artists, musicians, dancers and all round lovely people coming together to create theatre. The company makes live performance using a mix of BSL, Spoken English, projection, movement, mime, music and soundscapes.
Formed in 2013, Erin joined the company at the end of 2014 when she brought the idea for her autobiographical piece People of the Eye to them to collaborate on.
As a company, The DH Ensemble has worked with The Royal Shakespeare Studio, Forest Fringe, The Roundhouse, Pulse Festival, Shuffle Festival and LimeWharf. Most recently, we have worked with the Yard Theatre, the Battersea Arts Centre, Northern Stage, Liberty Festival and the Barbican.
The company also consults on BSL access for festivals such as Forest Fringe and The Sick of the Fringe. Erin took the lead on BSL access and interpretation for The Sick of the Fringe London 2017. This is an area she is passionate about.
The company members believe in breaking down barriers and pre-conceived perceptions. They aim to create innovative performance exploring genuine, truthful interaction. All their work is fully accessible for D/deaf and hearing audiences.
